“Balena” Anchovy Paste

“Balena” anchovy paste, always dressed in Italy’s tricolour is our company’s oldest and strongest product. It has been acknowledged as the undisputed market leader and considered an institution in the world of food specialties. The two cornerstones of our business have remained unchanged for over seven generations: the special craft process that is now combined with the most modern packaging and quality control technologies and the use of the finest anchovies available on the market.

Only the finest raw materials can be used in the unique process developed by our founder, a process that excludes absolutely any type of added ingredients such as oils, preservatives, flavourings, etc. “Balena” is, in fact, pure anchovy paste with the delicate flavour of anchovies from the Cantabrian Sea. For more than 150 years, “Balena” anchovy paste has been synonymous with outstanding, no-compromise quality, and a symbol of Italy’s great culinary traditions.

Balena Tuna Fillets in Olive Oil

Made exclusively from the best Yellowfin tunas, processed in Northern Spain and selected with utmost care, our tuna fillets in olive oil are yet another “Made in Balena” gourmet specialty. Hand processed using craft methods to keep them tender and flavourful, these tuna fillets are characterized by their distinctive flavour and just the right amount of saltiness. Another distinctive feature of our tuna fillets is that we season our product for months at just the right temperature which is the only method to bring out its full flavour and exquisite taste. Furthermore, the extra-high quality olive oil we use is light and easy to digest. Not only does it not mask the flavour of the fish, it enhances the original taste. It is an incomparable product, with all the exceptional qualities that have always characterized all “Balena” products.
